B.R. COHN CHARITY EVENTS RAISES $300,000
FOR LOCAL SONOMA CHILDREN’S CHARITIES AND
NATIONAL VETERANS FOUNDATION

Check Presentation

In what has become one of the largest annual fundraisers by an individual winery in Sonoma Valley, Bruce Cohn and B.R. Cohn Charity Events distributed $300,000 to a variety of charities today during a luncheon at the B.R Cohn Winery in Glen Ellen. The proceeds were generated by the 21st Annual B.R. Cohn Charity Events Fall Music Festival and Celebrity Golf Classic. The two concerts on September 29-30, the Golf Classic on October 1, and the live auction/dinner on September 28 raised a record amount of money for both local charities and veteran’s services. In just three years, the winery has raised over $1,000,000 in donations for numerous charities.

The proceeds are earmarked for the Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance, the Sonoma Valley Hospital Foundation and the Boys and Girls Club Valley of the Moon, as well as the National Veterans Foundation, an organization that Bruce Cohn and the Doobie Brothers have supported since 1987.

The lineup for both concerts featured on Saturday the Doobie Brothers, Huey Lewis and the News, Tower of Power, Lydia Pense & Cold Blood, Three Dog Night, Los Lobos, Taj Mahal, Canned Heat, Civil Twilight and Doobie Brothers offspring Lara Johnston and Patrick Simmons Jr. with Sebrina Baron.

Over the last 21-years, the B.R Cohn Charity Events Fall Music Festival and Celebrity Golf Classic have donated nearly $2,000,000 to various children's charities and others.

The Friday night gala auction and dinner at the B.R. Cohn Winery is becoming quite a fundraiser on its own, this year raising a record $150,000 at a 400-seat dinner and the concert on-stage auctions raised nearly $60,000 for the charities with autographed guitars and 9-liter B.R Cohn wine bottles leading the charge.

“It is hard to believe 21 years have passed yet it is so rewarding to have raised this amount of money over the years for such needy causes,” noted Bruce Cohn. “It is important to note that this couldn’t happen without the support of all the musicians, volunteers and staff that puts these events together.”

The 22nd Annual B.R. Cohn Charity Events Fall Music Festival and Celebrity Golf Classic will be held October 3-6, 2008 with the charity auction at the B.R. Cohn Winery Friday, October 3rd; concerts scheduled for the 4th and 5th and the golf classic at Sonoma Golf Club Monday, October 6th.
