Elegant Food & Wine Weekend to Feature Wines from France, California, Oregon and Washington
Guests at this year’s Gourmet & Grapes weekend-long culinary extravaganza will be treated to wines and champagne from France, California, Oregon and Washington. Gourmet & Grapes, benefiting the Hollings Cancer Center at the Medical University of South Carolina, takes place April 29 – May 1 at Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s The Sanctuary.
Renowned Chef Norman Van Aken will headline the weekend that includes golfing with pros, an interactive wine tasting seminar, and the Food & Wine Odyssey featuring B.R. Cohn Wines and top chefs from the Southeastern U.S., and silent and live auctions.
Highlights of this weekend- long salute to culinary excellence include:
Gourmet & Grapes Pro-AM Golf Tournament: Golf with chefs and celebrities while enjoying food and beer. Plus, improve your game with tips from Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s golf professionals.
Black Tie Dinner Featuring Chef Norman Van Aken: Van Aken will create a four- course culinary masterpiece paired with excellent wines.
Guest Chef Interactive Lunch & Wine Seminars: Enjoy a three-course lunch demonstration paired with excellent wines. The World Wine Guys Jeff Jenssen & Mike DeSimone will offer commentary on courses and pairings. After lunch, guests will choose one of three wine seminars.
Wine Odyssey Gala: A collection of first class local and regional Chefs featuring food stations on the Terrace Lawn overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Also includes a live & silent auction, delectable dessert station, Champagne toast, and live entertainment.
Jazz Brunch: Toast and celebrate a successful weekend as the chefs of Kiawah serve a Lowcountry brunch on the Grand Lawn. Live entertainment with Mimosa and Bloody Mary bars.
