With both the grape harvest winding down and the olive harvest just ahead, B.R. Cohn Winery moves on to the business of teaching people what to do with the olives once they’re picked, and helping guests get ready for the holidays ahead.
In many wine producing countries the olive harvest is as important as the grape harvest. Most of the olive harvest becomes olive oil, but cured olives are also a staple. Don Landis, a noted expert on olive curing, is presenting an Olive Curing Workshop.
He’ll talk about the history of the olive, the history of the olive in California and a thorough description of the Greek Style of olive curing without the use of lye. A tasting of olives with cheese and crackers is included.
$20/pp; $15/pp f or wine club members.
Includes complimentary tasting of our olive oils, vinegar and wine afterwards.
Space is limited so reserve your seat by calling (800) 330-4064 ex. 124.
