The popular and lively charity auction and dinner will be held at the B.R. Cohn Winery’s 140-year old Olive Grove. Preparing the five-course meal will be a who’s who of Sonoma Valley chefs including Jeffrey Lloyd of the Michelin rated Cafe LaHaye; Peter J. Smith of The Lodge at Sonoma; Ari Weiswasser of the hot new Glen Ellen Star; Sondra Bernstein and John Toulze of the Girl and the Fig; Carlo Cavallo of Sonoma Meritage and Scott Howard of Scott Howard Events. Special live performance by KFOG artist Bob Schnieder. The fun-filled evening also includes the annual fundraising auction where trips, private dinners, one-of-kind big format wines and autographed guitars are auctioned away for charity.

With both the grape harvest winding down and the olive harvest just ahead, B.R. Cohn Winery moves on to the business of teaching people what to do with the olives once they’re picked, and helping guests get ready for the holidays ahead.
In many wine producing countries the olive harvest is as important as the grape harvest. Most of the olive harvest becomes olive oil, but cured olives are also a staple. Don Landis, a noted expert on olive curing, is presenting an Olive Curing Workshop.
He’ll talk about the history of the olive, the history of the olive in California and a thorough description of the Greek Style of olive curing without the use of lye. A tasting of olives with cheese and crackers is included.

It’s time to gather for the annual Wine Club Harvest Luncheon. The chosen date is Saturday, November 12th, beginning at 11:30am in the Tent located across from the Old Tasting Room. Your afternoon begins with a welcome reception followed by a hearty Harvest luncheon of Cheese & fruit platters, Balsamic Grilled Eggplant Lavosh, Roasted Stuffed Cornish Game Hens, Wild Rice Salad, Green Beans Almandine, fabulous harvest desserts and extraordinary B.R. Our first release of Barbera comes from Bill Pauli’s Vineyard in the hills just north of Ukiah in Mendocino County. Here, the warm days and cool nights provide ideal growing conditions for this classic Italian variety. Aged 18 months in only the finest tight-grain French oak. This Barbera has rich aromas and flavors of plum, dried cherry, and pomegranate surrounded by a bouquet of toasty French oak and spice. Serve with your favorite grilled meat or Italian dishes.
