Session #6 – Golf Tournament and Winemaker Dinner

On Saturday, July 23rd the 2nd Annual B.R. Cohn Wine Club Twilight Golf Tournament and Winemaker Dinner was held at Oakmont Golf Club located in the heart of beautiful Sonoma Valley. This year the turnout was near capacity with 44 golfers and 68 dinner guests feasting on a menu meant for Kings and Queens.  Darlene, Anne and I enjoyed working with Ehrin Cadigan, Director of Food and Beverage at Oakmont’s Quail Inn Restaurant who took our ideas and created for us a fabulous five course dinner menu that was executed perfectly and showcased the B.R. Cohn wines chosen to complement. How easy an entertaining series can be, especially when you leave the food preparation to the experts!

Bruce and Laurie are ready to play some golf!

The Event began with players anxious to hit the links and win the prizes. Your Wine Club Cheerleaders  (Rebecca, Anne and Darlene) found ourselves laughing as we witnessed golf carts with GPS and welcome gift towels attached to golf bags waving in the breeze as the teams headed out for the Shotgun Start. We wished everyone “Good Luck” and reminded that we’d be on the Course shortly with something very special in tow.

Left: David & Darlene love the Cart & GPS. Right: Anne and Rebecca are dedicated to assisting the players with their games by pouring a little Woody White and of course taking team photos.

As we traversed the West Course heading to the 2nd Tee, we watched as Bruce Cohn teed off. Our very talented leader was paired with OGC Club Pro Jim Carra, Nancy Shaw (a hot shot as well), and Laurie Molinaro (a very promising beginner); together “Team Cohn” won the tournament, way to Go 1st place winners!  Second place was claimed by “Team Hulick” (Bruce & Becky Hulick and Chuck & Sallie Wood); with third place being awarded to “Team Cronin” (Dennis Cronin, Nona Leone, and Andy & Elly Frauenhofer) – Kudos go to all the Tournament Players!

Bruce Cohn can really power the ball off the tee!

Please don’t bother me, it’s called the Chocolate Diet and I’m in training to win next year’s B.R. Cohn Wine Club Golf Tournament!

What a great way for our wonderful Club Members to spend a fun-filled afternoon and evening. As the festivities began to draw down, we found sweet little Donna Kaiser (who loves anything B.R. Cohn related) realizing that the fifth Dinner Course “Sweet Endings” really means Sweet Endings! As I finish this session of Wine Club Easy and Effortless Entertaining, Anne, Darlene and I hope your smiles are brighter and that next year, you too, will join in celebrating with fellow wine club members the 3rd Annual B.R. Cohn Wine Club Twilight Golf Tournament and Winemaker Dinner at Oakmont! Many thanks go to our amazing photographers (David, Trevor and Anne) who gave us a treasure chest of fabulous photos to choose from.
